Vicepresidente Segundo

Vocal

Susana GonzalezI would like to apply to be a vocal titular. In this position, I will continue encouraging teachers to publish their research work and teaching proposals. I have been working in the development of two journals that are published on- line by the association since 2011. Although at the beginning it was hard work because we did not have many contributions, we are now receiving papers from different countries and I think that sharing different experiences is very enriching for everybody. This is really an area of interest for me and I am planning to index the two journals because most specialized journals are indexed now.

I am a teacher of English and Spanish, BA in Letters and M.A. from UBA in Discourse Analysis. I taught English and Spanish in public High Schools, I directed a public High School and was a Supervisor in the South of the City of Buenos Aires. I taught English literature in a Teaching Training Institute in the Province of Buenos Aires and I have been the General Coordinator of the English Chair in the School of Philosophy and Letters in the UBA since 2001.

Vicepresidente segunda

Susana GonzalezI would like to apply to be Vicepresidenta Segunda. I consider that in this position I will be able to collaborate directly with the President in the development and organization of the activities of the association and suggest possible new activities. I consider we should go on working so that this association is better known among teachers of English in Argentina. We have to reconsider the idea of teaching courses to favor the professional development of our affiliates. However, to achieve this aim we have to contact different educational authorities from the provinces and the CABA for our courses to be accepted. Teachers need to accumulate experience and points from these courses, especially in the CABA because the law has been changed and teachers have to keep attending courses.

I also think that we should continue encouraging teachers to publish their research work and teaching proposals. I have been working in the development of two journals that are published on- line by the association since 2011. Although at the beginning it was difficult because we did not have many contributions, we are now receiving papers from different countries and I think that sharing different experiences is very enriching for everybody.

I am a teacher of English and Spanish, BA in Letters and M.A. from UBA in Discourse Analysis. I taught English literature in a Teaching Training Institute in the Province of Buenos Aires and I have been the General Coordinator of the English Chair in the School of Philosophy and Letters in the UBA since 2001. I am also a researcher in reading comprehension and I have been directing research projects accepted by the Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnología since 2001.

As regards my experience as a member of Argentina TESOL, I am glad to direct and organize the two journals the Association has and I was very pleased to have helped in the organization of a convention in the School of Philosophy and Letters.
