There have been changes in the PROGRAM SCHEDULE for SATURDAY due to cancellations and an involuntary omission. Please find the changes and the link to the new version below.

12:30-13:00: The link to the commercial presentation by SBS and National Geographic Learning (The Power of Content) was missing and has now been added in the same slot.

15:10-16:10: The presentation by CORREA, Alonso was cancelled. It has been replaced by a presentation by SANCHEZ, Jorge.

17:30-18:30: The presentation by HERFERT, Anabella was cancelled.

TESOL Affiliate Transformation and Resilience

Over the course of the last year, teaching associations have faced substantial hurdles in supporting and communicating with members.  This panel will explore responses from associations around the globe and how they maintained and thrived through transformative processes and resilience.

James Papple is the current chair of the ANPC TESOL Affiliate Network Professional Council and currently works as the Interim Associate Director at York University.

Bessie Karras-Lazaris is the incoming chair of the ANPC and is the Director of Academic Programs and Student Live, Intensive English, Student Success Pathways and international Programs at California State University, Northridge

Dr. Linh Phung is an English Academy Director at Anaheim University

Bio: Jermaine McDougald is the Director ELT Business Development at Universidad de La Sabana

Resources and PD Opportunities for English Language Teachers

In this demonstration, the RELO team from the U.S. Embassy in Lima, will introduce the Regional English Language Office, its mission, programs, different resources available and opportunities available for English teachers from public and private institutions throughout the Region. Attendees will discover plenty of digital materials that they can use interactively in their classes and free PD opportunities in the field. 

Denise Lowery is the Regional English Language Officer (RELO) for the Andes and Southern Cone region, working with U.S. Embassies throughout the region to promote English language programming for English language educators and learners. She has previously served in Europe, Near East Asia, and Washington D.C. 

Marcela Raffo has been the Regional English Language Office Specialist in the US Embassy in Lima since 2007.  Before then, she worked as an English teacher and coordinator.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in translation and interpreting and completed certificate programs on Information Sciences and Management, on Neurosciences and Education, and TESOL.
