My name is Erika Elizabeth Roger. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and obtained my degree as an English Teacher at Instituto de Formación Docente N°1 in Santiago del Estero. I also pursued studies in the Licenciatura en Inglés program at UNSE for two years.
Since 2008, I have been working at ASICANA, where I initially served as a teacher and currently work in the Academic Office, as an academic coordinator developing projects related to the cultural, academic and institutional area.
I have participated in several professional development courses focused on teaching and learning, course creation for digital platforms, and institutional project design. Additionally, I have attended various ARTESOL conferences, both as a participant and as a speaker in virtual and face-to-face sessions. In 2023, I was also a presenter at ABLA.
My interest in nominating myself to continue participating actively in ARTESOL is driven by my strong belief that constant professional growth is a fundamental pillar for every individual, regardless of their field. Belonging to this Association allows me to share my commitment to lifelong learning with colleagues from across the country, and particularly from my province.
As a member of a Binational Center, I believe I can contribute to motivating our English Department staff and colleagues in our professional network to become ARTESOL members, exchange ideas on professional development opportunities, and promote training events. Moreover, I am eager to collaborate in the organization, promotion, and support of all activities carried out by ARTESOL. With the combination of classroom and institutional experience I have acquired throughout my career, I am confident that I can bring valuable contributions to the Association.
I am committed to dedicating a minimum of two hours per week to this role, with the possibility of increasing my involvement during periods of greater activity. I also fully understand and accept the responsibilities that come with the position. As a vice president, I would actively participate in assemblies and board meetings, with both voice and vote, and I would take on the commissions and tasks entrusted to me by the Board of Directors.
