Mabel Gallo received Share Life Achievement Award

This award aims at honoring a professional career that Share Academic Committee has deemed to be meritorious and praiseworthy, not necessarily one that has met with extraordinary success, but one which deserves the profound respect of the ELT community.

13907034_809626662471074_5525291967522722742_nMagister Mabel Gallo  graduated as a Profesora en Inglés at Instituto Superior del Profesorado  “Dr.Joaquín V. González” . A Fulbright Scholarship enabled her to do  graduate studies in English and American Literature at Stanford University.  She also obtained a Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from California State University, Los Angeles.

Mabel thanks the institutions and people she has worked with in her professional career: ICANA, ARTESOL Share and PAS, US Embassy.

As a nonnative teacher of English at ICANA, Instituto Cultural Argentino Norteamericano, her  life progressed from being an English learner, to becoming  an English teacher at all levels, Head of Professional Development,  Assistant Director,  and “Rectora” of the Teacher Education College of ICANA, the institution  where she spent 50 years of her professional life.

Mabel claims she owes a lot of her professional growth to networking with colleagues in her workplace a
nd in the Professional Associations in which she has actively participated.  She is a close friend of SHARE’s and  is a founding member of Argentina TESOL, ARTESOL, an affiliate of TESOL international . She was elected to serve on the TESOL International Board of Directors from 2003 to 2006.

Building Networks Among Teachers

Dear Colleagues,

This is a call for articles from ARTESOL EFL Interest Section for 2016 edition of ARTESOLEFL JOURNAL, a refereed journal of issues in Teaching English as a Foreign LanguageARTESOLEFL Journal, Building Networks Among Teachers receives submissions of unpublished manuscripts on any topic related to the area. https://artesol.org.ar/publications/efl-journal

Four categories of manuscripts are evaluated:

  • Contributions. short articles published by prestigious EFL specialists.
  • Research Articles. This is a section devoted to the publication of research articles that will be refereed by three renowned researchers.
  • Pedagogical experiences in EFL. This section includes the description of new experiences (strategies, techniques, course design) within EFL.
  • Reviews. This section includes reviews of books and journals published by Universities, Teacher Training Colleges and other institutions interested in the development of EFL courses or studies.

Articles should be submitted in Microsoft Word or RTF document format. Full-length articles should be no more than 5,000 words, excluding appendices. For more details, see the submission guidelines and the sample articles here.

Please note that the deadline for your contributions is August 31, 2016. Your articles should be submitted at artesolefljournal@gmail.com.The editorial board will contact you as soon as your article goes through the different stages of the review process. Once your article has been accepted, it will be published within one year as from September 1, 2016.
