Abstract
According to Marietta Gentles Crawford, a brand consultant and expert in her field, “A personal brand can help teachers establish authority, build powerful relationships, and add value to the people they help.” Educators find themselves faced with the online challenge of constantly “engaging” students, which in itself can be emotionally stressful while challenging the feelings of job satisfaction. 21st-century learners have so many tools at their disposal, educators are faced with the challenge of making sense of all these tools to captivate their audience and teach. Teachers are evolving into content creators, bloggers, video producers, animators, etc. in addition to teaching and meeting their curriculum demands. This workshop will provide some insight as to why Teachers should consider building their own BRAND to increase and sustain their memorability factor in the classroom. It will examine the importance of branding and the potential of looking at students as “clients or customers” and educators as service-providers. Can this branding mindset improve the quality of teaching in general?
