ARTESOL

A la Comisión Ejecutiva de Argentina TESOL:

Mi Nombre es Patricia Alejandra Insirillo y me dirijo a Uds. para postularme para el cargo de vocal de la Comisión Directiva de ARTESOL.

Soy Profesora Nacional de Inglés graduada del INSP J.V. González y Licenciada en Educación, egresada de la Universidad de Quilmes. Aprobé todos los seminarios correspondientes a la maestría en Lingüística Aplicada a la Enseñanza de Inglés como Lengua Extranjera en la Universidad de Jaén, España, quedándome pendiente la tesis de la misma. Poseo una antigüedad docente de más de treinta años y he desempeñado mi labor tanto en instituciones estatales como privadas. Trabajé como coordinadora externa para el desarrollo de cursos con objetivos específicos en el Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Industrial por años y en la actualidad soy Jefa de trabajos Prácticos y coordinadora del nivel Elemental en la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, UBA. También soy docente en la Facultad de Psicología de la misma institución. Integro el equipo de investigación de la cátedra de inglés en FFyL desde 1995.

A lo largo de mi formación profesional, he presentado trabajos en distintos eventos académicos y publicado artículos en diversas revistas. Sin embargo, cabe destacar que mi primer paso fue en la convención de ARTESOL de 1999, siguiendo con las siguientes presentaciones en los años que detallo a continuación:

• 2018: “Students’ Vocabulary Learning Strategies profile in Reading Comprehension Courses”.
• 2015: “Developing tasks for Academic Listening Comprehension at FfyL UBA.”

• 2011: “Reading Comprehension Assessment of University undergraduates.”
• 2000: “Listening and Reading in an Academic Setting”.

Como se puede observar, mi trayectoria profesional ha estado ligada a la asociación, motivo que me genera un interés especial en postularme como vocal para poder aportar con mi trabajo en un espacio que genera propuestas para la divulgación académica y capacitación de profesionales.

He leído los requerimientos del cargo y estoy dispuesta a cumplir con compromiso, dedicación y esfuerzo con las funciones que se me asignen. Comprendo que se requiere de una dedicación de dos horas semanales, de presencia a las reuniones y convenciones y a su vez que el trabajo se verá incrementado previo a la convención anual.

Dear Members of the Board of Directors,

I am writing in order to apply for the position of First Vice President of the Board of Directors of ARTESOL

My name is Élida Rolli. I have a degree as Teacher of English at the Teachers’ Training College “Joaquin V González”, a university diploma as Teacher of English from UCAECE and I took a Master’s degree on Education Projects Management at UCAECE, although the thesis is still pending. At present I am studying a post graduate degree on “Cognitive Neurosciences of Language and Reading” at UBA. My work experience includes teaching English at different levels for over forty years, being Coordinator of the English Department and Consultant at several Teachers’ Contests at Dámaso Centeno School and Member of the Board in a Teachers’ Context in the Military School of Languages. I have been teaching at the School of Philosophy and Letters of Buenos Aires University for the past twenty six years.

I have been working as a member of ARTESOL Board of Directors for the last six years, and I have attended and participated in the Board of Directors’ meetings actively, which has allowed me to be acquainted with the structure and the functioning of ARTESOL as TESOL affiliate. I have also been acting as editor of ARTESOL EFL Journal and collaborating with the Academic Committee reading proposals for the Conventions. I have attended ARTESOL Conventions regularly and made some presentations. I also acted as host in the latest ARTESOL Virtual Convention.

I am motivated to apply for the position of First Vice President of the Board of Directors by a strong commitment with this Organisation which encourages teachers’ development and creativity to become better professionals. I have read the Board of Directors’ Internal Regulations thoroughly and I see I have no conflict of interests, and I also agree with all its terms. I can devote more than five hours a week to work at the Board and I hope to be as useful as possible.
