Turning the crisis into opportunities
As schools around the world faced closures due to the Covid19 pandemic, educators quickly adapted their teaching to a “new normal” virtual setting. Yet, under these unprecedented circumstances, there is still one essential question that needs to be answered: how practitioners can better find out what students are learning.
During this talk, the presenter will refer to essential must do’s of formative and sumative assessment during emergency remote teaching. Focus will be made on student readiness, skill acquisition and academic progress. Participants concrete take-away will include 10 tips to monitor students’ academic achievement under at-home learning conditions
Débora Nacamuli Klebs is a passionate teacher, teacher trainer and coach, supporter of high-quality professional development and mentoring, with wide experience and expertise in secondary teaching. For the last 25 years she has been lecturing on ELT Methodology both, at ISP Joaquín V. González and IES Lenguas Vivas Juán R. Fernández, where she is currently the Coordinator of the area. She has authored and co-authored articles on the field and is a presenter both nationally and internationally. She has recently co-founded Argentina ASCD and is a current board member of Argentina Tesol.
